Markby Green Opening - 27th July 2016
Brambledown have completed a £80k scheme for Groundwork North East in Middlesbrough.
Brambledown stripped an entire courtyard back to a blank canvass, before installing electrical works to surrounding housing for ventilation installation and lighting around the closed community.
Brambledown constructed raised planter beds all around the open square, which was surrounded by private and public housing.
Brambledown worked closely with local residents to ensure that disturbance with machinery and plant was kept to a minimum.
Brambledown began preparing a sub-base for the new resin bound surfaced footpaths which would eventually surround the entire Green.
Brambledown then laid the resin bound surfaces and imported soil and began planting around verges and in the raised planters, along with pin kerb edging and drainage.
Some very large pagodas were then constructed along with brick walls and fences for extra privacy for the residents.
Block paving and seeding and turfing finished the project, which won praise from local councillors and residents at an opening event earlier this month.
Brambledown and Groundwork North East gained much praise from the organisers and funding bodies.
