Works were completed by Brambledown over a 12 month period, with the park remaining open at all times. Brambledown Landscape Services Ltd had already completed a full restoration of Walker Park in 1988, and this was the secon time in 30 years that Brambledown were appointed Main Contractors, responsible for restoring the Park to its former glory, and removing the dated 1980's feel to the Park. The Cafe Construction was a vital part of the works (value circa £600k), and Brambledown were responsible for this also. The cafe also included toilets, teaching and meeting rooms for local residents, youth clubs, organisations and space to hire for groups. The park was funded by The HLF and Newcastle City Council, and this is one of many large Park restorations which Brambledown have undertaken across the North of England.
