Yorkshire Diamond Jubilee Garden Complete

Bramham residents planted up the final stage of the Diamond Jubilee Gardens on the corner of Lyndon Ave and Wetherby Road.

Work started before Christmas to turn waste ground on the main entrance to the village into a peaceful haven with seating and permanent planting for all residents to enjoy.

Keith Innocent, Chair of Bramham Community Action Group, said: "This scheme first came about from a suggestion by Bramham in Bloom and with the sponsorship of Bramham Community Action Group, has progressed to the final stage.

"The Big Lottery and Groundwork UK have provided a lot of help in funding the project.

"The main contractors Brambledown have done a great job in finishing the project in time and it looks great."

The organisers thanked Ward Councillor Gerald Wilkinson for his support and help in providing backing via Leeds City Council.
