Artificial 3g Sports Pitch Installation Videos
These videos show Brambledown installing an artificial grass 3g synthetic football pitch at The York Sports Village.
York Sport Village, a new £9 million sports facility on the Heslington East campus expansion will be open to the University of York students and staff, and the public later this year, and the external works and artificial football pitch installation as well as landscaping works have been undertaken by Brambledown Contracts Group. The first phase will feature a competition-standard eight lane 25 metre pool, learner pool, full size 3G Astroturf pitch and three further five-a-side pitches. Indoor facilities include a 100-station computerised fitness suite, floor space for classes such as spinning and yoga; three specialist treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms and a cafeteria.
The University has worked with City of York Council to fund the project. The University is contributing £5 million and the Council is contributing £3 million, with the remainder being allocated through sporting grants.
