Locke Park Play Area Barnsley Completion Photos
Brambledown have completed works to Locke Park Play Area in Barnsley on behalf of Barnsley MBC. Works caried out by Brambledown include:
- Removal of Existing Old Play Equipment
- Regrading of existing Ground Levels (Cut and Fill)
- Installation of new entrance pathways, picnic tables and seating
- Installation of Large new Play Area comprising of HAGS play equipment, all installed by Brambledown
- Full wet Pour Safety Surfacing by Brambledown encorporating a railway track design around the equipment.
CHILDREN will be able to have hours of fun at Locke Park’s new £250,000 state of the art railway-themed play area completed by Brambledown which is now open for use.
Barnsley Council’s Neighbourhood Services working in partnership with the Friends of Locke Park raised funding for the play area from Barnsley MBC Community Green Space Fund, Waste Recycling Environmental Ltd and the Big Lottery and used Brambledown as Main Contractors for the Play Area Installation. Brambledown being a Northern Based company were ideally placed to undertake these works.
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Customer and Neighbourhood Services, said: “I am delighted with this new important community resource as play is vital for children's development. The play area provides a range of facilities consist of a see saw, swings, multi climbing frame and safety surfacing themed with train connotations such as the ticket office, the sidings and the turntable.
“This will link in with the heritage of the Park and Joseph Locke the renowned Victorian railway engineer. Children’s awareness of their local heritage will therefore be raised as they play”
The regeneration of Locke Park Play Area was completed by Brambledown Yorkshire Landscape Contractors with the installation of new seating and improved pathways. Brambledown External Works and Landscape Contractors carry out work accross Yorkshire, Lancashire, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Cumbria and the Midlands, establishing themselves as one of the Norths Premier Landscape Contractors.
