Professional Experience
Brambledown will celebrate 40 years experience in 2012 within the external works, construction and landscaping industry, and has a strong reputation for providing clients with a first class service. Brambledown pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship, and many of our projects have been so successful that they have been recognised through many local and national awards, including several from the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI), National Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards and almost a dozen regional environmental awards.
Standing as Select external works Contractors for approximately 50 Local Authorities in the North of England & Employing over 150 full time staff at offices all over the North of including; Brandon (County Durham), Birtley (Tyne and Wear), Leeming (North Yorkshire), and Wetherby & Leeds (Yorkshire), Brambledown will continue to grow and strive to remain at the forefront of the Landscaping and External Works industry.

Brambledown have completed phase 1 & 2 works on the Regeneration of Barnes Park Sunderland. This £3.5 Million Contract involves a full Heritage Lottery funded Regeneration of Barnes Park involving all aspects of Hard & Soft Landscaping & construction - as well as building and civils works including the installation of a MUGA, Play Area, Lake Drainage, Pathways, Bowling Greens, Sensory Gardens and the construction of a new Cafe Building. Retail Outlet:
Poplar Tree Garden Centre is the retail outlet for Brambledown, selling to both the trade and the public. Poplar Tree Garden Centre is based in Shincliffe Village in Durham City.
Poplar Tree Garden Centre offers a variety of different gardening tools and equipment online and instore on a 7 acre site by the beautiful River Wear. Poplar Tree Garden Centre is over 40 years old and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year from near and far, and also based at the Garden Centre is Poplar Tree Florist, Brambles Food Hall & Farm Shop and the very popular Brambles Coffee Shop.
A new building has recently opened, Brambles Food Hall & Farm Shop, selling a huge range of local food produce with a full time onsite butcher. The Food Hall sells delicious regional produce such as steaks, chicken, eggs, bread, fresh and frozen foods and much more. Along with a new food Hall and Farm shop, Poplar Tree Garden Centre are pleased to announce an extension to the Brambles Coffee Shop which can now seat over 150 people inside and a further 60 outside in beautiful surroundings by the River, and is also available for private function and meeting hire.
